Stock market live updates
: Equity markets opened with nominal gains on Friday amid strength in global peers.
The BSE Sensex gained 100 points to 62,690 and the NSE Nifty50 moved 40 points higher to 18,650 levels.
HCL Tech was the biggest loser on the Sensex, down nearly 5 per cent, followed by Tech M and Infosys. Reports said HCL Tech expects its FY23 constant currency revenue at the lower end of its guidance at 13.5 per cent.
The broader markets, meanwhile, outweighed the frontline indices. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices rose up to 0.5 per cent.
Within sectors, the Nifty PSB index built on yesterday’s gain and rallied 1.5 per cent. Metal, FMCG, and Auto pockets were other top gainers, while the IT index slipped over 1 per cent.
